This is the only comprehensive list of Fullblood Spanish Goat Breeders!

Breeders with this ICON next to their name are Certified Breeders. Click their name and it will link to the CERTIFIED BREEDER MAP.

Typically producers breed in the fall and wean early summer. However, some producers breed all year. It is best to contact breeders in January and again in April to get on their selling lists. We apologize for breeders who are too busy to get back to you. However, take this as a sign that at the moment they do not have available Verified Spanish goats for you to purchase. When producers have available goats they will list them on this Website and/or Facebook group. Otherwise, these breeders have waiting lists for their goats. We are grateful for the demand for our treasured Verified Spanish goats, and please reach out to our administrator for assistance in finding seed stock if this list does not get you there.

This page is limited to listing only those who breed verified pure Spanish goats. We rely on the integrity of our members, Bill of Sales, ear tags and photos to accurately represent their goats. Additionally, Certified Breeders have taken extra steps to DNA Register their Verified Pure Spanish Goats to assist us in building a viable Spanish Goat Breed Genetic Database. However, many of our Spanish breeders also have other breeds and crossbred Spanish goats on their farms and ranches. Please make sure that you are clear with our breeders what you are looking for when you call and ask about available goats.

All verified Spanish goat breeders are welcome to be listed on this website Breeder List free of charge. This website is offered freely for the preservation and promotion of the Pure Spanish Goat Breed, and to support those breeders who are committed to the breed.

The only requirements for being listed on this page are: Completed Breeder/Herd ID Application, Verification of Spanish goats, participation in the annual goat count, and courteous and respectful interaction with others.

Explanation for the following notations under Breeder Listing:
Foundation:
Foundation Breeders are the remaining herds of the original bloodlines that established the Spanish Goat Breed in 2007.
Verified:
All breeders on the Spanish Goat Association Breeder List have gone through the verification process.
Registered: These breeders have at least one verified Spanish goat DNA sample on file with UC Davis through the Spanish Goat Registry.
Certified Breeder:
These breeders have DNA Registered five females and one male DNA Sample with UC Davis through the Spanish Goat Registry.
Gold Certified Breeder:
These breeders have DNA Registered two generations of their goats –– the requirement is five females and one male DNA Sample on file with UC Davis through the Spanish Goat Registry. Up to April 1, 2021 breeders were considered Gold Certified if their goats were purchased directly from Foundation Bloodline Ranch Producers.
Lifetime Member:
Spanish Goats, LLC invites breeders to become lifetime members to receive certain benefits. This is offered in September of each year only.
Advisory Board Member:
SGR Certified Spanish Goat Breeders are eligible to be nominated and voted on by the Verified Spanish Goat Breeders (SGLLC partners not included) to serve a two year term as an Advisory Board Member to Spanish Goats, LLC.

Tip for new buyers: It is up to the buyer to do their homework. Ask the breeder about their goats, vaccines, worming, feeding, breeding, kidding, pasture management, shelters, and how they handle known goat diseases. Make sure you get a bill of sale to ensure you can be listed on this page and DNA Register your own goats.

When you bring in new goats, they’ll probably experience a flare-up of parasites, coccidia, etc. It’s a normal goat thing. We recommend that you quarantine new goats until they can settle in a little. You might also wish to have at least a fecal test done after a few days to see if they need treatment.

If you do experience any unusual illness in new goats, please contact your breeder—your tired-from-travelling goats may succumb to an illness long before your breeder experiences the same, or perhaps your helpful breeder may have the experience and advice you need.
